A very pure Porsche

Evidently for Anne Kieffer, the bug only tightened its grip in the intervening years. Anne started out with a career as an interior designer for the car industry and cycled through a number of design fields after that, but it’s her love for her small collection of Porsches that inspired her latest venture in hannibalmotors. The brand is named after the Carthaginian general, who famously traversed the Alps with a herd of African war elephants some 2000 years ago. 

“In the 90s my parents owned a 964 Carrera 2 which I drove a lot, I probably got the Porsche bug then.”

A slow path

“Every year in the summer my friends and I cross the Alps in our classic cars, like Hannibal did with his elephants.

That’s where the idea for the name came from. It started out as a side project, but I’m expanding it more now to see where it goes. Currently I do illustrations on commission for friends of their dream cars and more recently I’ve been printing them on different materials like cashmere, silk and wool.”

Impressive though the elephants might once have been, it’s a safe bet that Anne’s own alpine crossings are considerably less laboured.

Her Porsches consist of a 964 Carrera RS, a 992 GT3 and more recently, a 930 Turbo.

“The 964 RS is a very pure Porsche, reduced to the max. I first drove on years ago and I was instantly addicted. A few years ago I found this yellow one in mint condition and I knew it was time to invest… The 930 is my latest purchase, it’s incredible. It only has 4 gears, but you don’t need more. To me, it’s the most iconic 911. It’s all about the massive whale tail and wide rear fenders.

The GT3 is just the perfect car for track days. I started doing them as a hobby 10 years ago, first in different rental Porsches. I’m well positioned in Luxembourg between Spa, Hockenheim and the Nurburgring, and they all offer great track events. You can push the GT3 on a track to its limits all day and then drive it happily home again, there isn’t another street car that can keep up with it!”
